Shaker Heights High School Vice Principal Sara Joyce donated bone marrow through non-profit organization Be the Match earlier this October. After first registering herself as a potential donor in 2001, Joyce was deemed the best match for the transplant recipient, an unknown 55-year-old woman to whom Joyce had never met. Joyce is one of many tens of thousands of donors to undergo a transplant by Be the Match Registry since first facilitated in 1986.
