New Stages is the high school’s annual student playwriting festival. “EVE,” by senior Harlan Sadowsky, is directed by senior Isabel Siegel and sophomore Jaryn Marcus. Svatora, who plays the character known as Trevor, said that he enjoys portraying a different personality. “I like that it’s something I wouldn’t be in real life,” said Svatora, “because that’s what acting is — it’s something you’re not. Hurley said that if he were elected, he would help members reach their full potential. “I will make sure everyone can succeed at being their best selves and will earn awards,” he said. Freshman Lulu Kreeger said the class just finished a unit on“The Poet X” by Elizabeth Acevedo and were picking up “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck. “I loved ‘The Poet X,’ ” she said. “It explored topics like self-identity and abusive parents. Freshman Abigail Thompson said she feels ready for the show. Said Thompson, “The show is today at 6:30 p.m. I’m so ready.
