Raider sports now have their own home.

Athletic Director Don Readance has launched shakerathletics.org to keep Shaker fans and athletes informed.

“I want to be able to keep things as current as possible, such as stories, ticket purchases, information,” Readance said.

The website includes individual team rosters, game schedules, results as well as athletic forms and information about boosters.

Last year, the district website hosted rosters, coach information and schedules.

“Our regular website was limited in immediate information going out to the public,” said Readance. “I didn’t have direct control of the athletic site, and this is sort of like my own sports page, and I can get up information immediately, instead of being the middle man. And it gives the administration building one less thing to worry about.”

Readance also set up a Facebook page, Shaker Heights Raiders, and Twitter @raidersofshaker.

“I have no idea how to tweet, but it automatically tweets when I post something to the site,” Readance said.

In the future, Readance hopes to keep parents and athletes more connected. “Once I get more in-depth, parents will be able to sign up for alerts, such as game date changes or site changes.”
