Were you pleased with the actions that the police and administration took at Friday’s hockey game?
“The adults are trying to save you guys from yourselves. Somebody’s got to step in and get control of the behavior. If the students aren’t able to be in control, then the adults have to be. Good kids make bad choices that could be life-threatening if you don’t monitor them. The adults had to be in control.”
Do you believe your guest editorial in last month’s issue concerning fan behavior at the hockey games affected adults’ actions?
“I would say it raised the awareness that we need solutions, but I don’t necessarily think that it had an effect.”
Do you think the time change of hockey games from 9:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. is an efficient solution that will curb bad behavior?
“I think it’s a start. I think it’s going to help. The students should be aware that people are watching them now a lot more carefully than they’ve done previously.”
