Teacher Placed on Paid Administrative Leave
Social studies teacher and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator Timothy Mitchell has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by law enforcement, according to a letter sent to parents of his students this morning.
“We do not have any details at this time, but please know there are no concerns related to your child,” stated Principal Jonathan Kuehnle in the letter. The letter was also included as an attachment to an email sent to high school faculty.
While Mitchell is on leave, his AP U.S. History classes will be covered by Sarah Davis and Joe Konopinski, according to the letter. In turn, their Global Studies classes will be taught by Jessica Minto. John Moore, currently the District IB Coordinator, will assume Mitchell’s role of IB Diploma Programme Coordinator.
As of 2:18 p.m., Kuehnle, as well as Executive Director of Communications Scott Stephens, were not available for further comment.
The Shakerite will cover this story as it develops.

Don’t you love when the school doesn’t address the allegation that Tim Mitchell slept with a student? The idea that the school has no information on the subject of either the official police or the internal investigation (which is to be conducted by the district) is beyond belief.Don’t you love when the school doesn’t address the allegation that Tim Mitchell slept with a student?
