Why did you decide to run?
“I was secretary last year and I liked it. It’s a cool group of kids. It’s really fun, and I enjoyed doing it this year,” Alexandra Harris said. She said she was also inspired to run by her sister, who participated in Student Council as well.
Did you run last year or at any other time? Have you held office previously?
Harris held the position of secretary during her freshman year.
What’s your campaign strategy? Are you using social media?
“I am using posters, some social networking, and just getting the word around by ear,” Harris said. “With social media, I am using Twitter, Instagram and a little bit of Facebook.”
Why should people vote for you? What are your advantages over the other candidates?
“I am experienced and know what I’m doing because I was on Student Council as a freshman,” she said. “I know what needs to get done and how to get it done. My advantage is that I was the secretary this year.”
If elected, what three things would you need to achieve to feel you have been successful?
Harris said she wants to concentrate on fundraising. “I also want to listen to my grade and hear what they want to have done. I think we should also fundraise for charities, not only our class,” she said.
