Despite the Raiders’ 2-8 football record, senior quarterback Connor Hall won the ESPN Cleveland Student Athlete Award for northeast Ohio football players Jan. 19 and was given a $5000 scholarship for his first year of college.
“I was pretty surprised given [our record], especially because a lot of players had a lot more team success on the field. But I knew it was also about your overall athletics, academics, and community involvement,” said Hall, who also plays baseball. He committed to Davidson College Jan. 22 and will be notified of admission by Jan. 30.
Hall was one of 10 finalists for the award. ESPN Cleveland 850 radio selected him as a winner after his parents nominated him.
