Why did you decide to run?
Last year, Malone was president as well. “I loved the leadership role and it just felt right, like it was meant to be! So I’m running again to maintain my position,” she said.
Did you run last year or at any other time/have you held office previously?
Malone said she ran for vice president last year and won. However, the president stepped down and she became president of her class.
What’s your campaign strategy? Are you using social media? Do you even have a campaign given that you’re unopposed this year?
“I… don’t really have a campaign, I guess. I’m running unopposed this year,” Malone said. “But I do plan to address my class at election speeches later this Thursday.”
Why should people vote for you? Will it make a difference if a lot of people vote for you?
“If I were to run opposed, I think people should vote for me because I’m dedicated, organized, and it’s easy for me to relate and communicate with everyone in order to collaborate and compromise with everyone’s needs,” Malone said. She also said she would feel very supported if a lot of people voted for her even though no one else is running.
If elected, what three things do you need to achieve to feel you have been successful?
“My ultimate goal is raise a lot of money so we can have a beautiful prom,” Malone said. She added that she doesn’t think her job will be done until she unites the Class of 2014 for a successful and fun senior year. She feels that she and her council can make their mark and really give back to the school.
