The Shakerite

Lily Roth (‘18) is starting her third year with the Shakerite.  She is now the Web Managing Editor. As a staff reporter her freshman year, she wrote several Spotlight pieces and interviewed various people for the coverage of school events such as TEDx, Sankofa, and Les Miserables.  She also co-wrote a column her freshman year on the viral term “Yeet.”  Ending freshman year and becoming an Opinion editor, she wrote a story about the increasing pressure for students to promote their futures over the summer.  Starting her second year, she wrote a piece about alternative lock down plans, and another on brands and labels. As Opinion Editor, she wrote stories about the bomb threat and operated as a part of the editorial board. Lily is a founder/president of the Public Speaking Association, student council representative, in the Student Group on Race Relations (SGORR), enjoys playing soccer, and camping.
